Blog 5: A photograph

My girlfriend is a photography student so; at the start of her career I was the first person who agreed to be her model for her homework. I had no idea about posing or anything that a model needs to do, but I tried my best. She took this picture of me, this one is based on German expressionism, which tries to show loneliness or a bitter sight of the life, this artistic movement was born in the context of pre-war (1914-1918) and between wars (1918-1939). Thus, this photograph tries to catch sadness and loneliness, trying to emotionally reach the viewer. This photograph was taken when my girlfriend was in her second year of study, and she was very proud of her job. For me it was a very cool picture, I can remember that we took this one in my cousin’s house.

I really enjoyed posing to my girlfriend, and I did my best in all homework that she needed my help, but when she passed to the next years of her career, she needed professional models so my job ended. Perhaps, it was very funny for me being an amateur model.

My favorite book: El Túnel

My favorite book is El Túnel, from Ernesto Sábato.

I read it when I was a teenager, for my obligatory reading schedule for the high school. I liked it because was an interesting travel through a mind that was starting to get lost and sick for the jealousy, at this time I was starting to discover the love by the way, I was suffer for my first love and all that process. And for my young mind, the psychological novel was a new world and this was my first one. The thing that I believe I love it, was this psycho-emotional sensation of enter in a mind that wasn’t the mine. I read it the book 2 times more when I finish it, I remember.

I recommend this book if you enjoy the psychological novel topic, it was very interesting see how can the reality is being distorted by the mind, a sick mind.

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is the computer. When I was around 12 years old I got my first computer, my parents bought this one on the governmental campaign of “Mi primer PC”, it was very basic but enough for me. The next computer I had was a laptop, I got it when I was ending my high school, and from there I only bought laptops. I use my computer as my main tool for everything, like study, do my homework, watch videos, chat or play videogames. I use my laptop every day for whatever I need it, but the most of the time is for playing videogames with my friends, and that’s the main reason why I like it I suppose. I love to play online videogames with friends; I have a lot of friends from different countries thanks to online videogames. My life without computer, I figure, would be very boring and harder on the academic side; I can’t imagine how difficult doing my homework without my laptop would be.

This is the last laptop I bought, an HP Pavillon.
